Pig Iron Theatre Company's production of Love Unpunished

Love Unpunished

2006
A dance-theatre contemplation of death and grief, set on the evacuation staircase of the World Trade Center.
“Pig Iron's “Love Unpunished” honorably accepts a challenge eschewed by many other companies — to reflect contemporary events on stage.” - WBUR (Boston Public Radio)

Businesspeople, firefighters, bike messengers, and construction workers cycle through stages of unconcern and fear into a surreal, unsteady world of memory and loss. Love Unpunished is a resolutely apolitical attempt to reclaim the humanity of the dead, and to raise the possibility of community in 9/11-era America.
