Quinn Bauriedel, moderator

Co-Founder & Co-Director of Pig Iron Theatre Company & Director of Pig Iron School

Quinn Bauriedel is a co-founder and Co-Artistic Director of the OBIE Award-winning Pig Iron Theatre Company. Since 1995, Quinn has been one of the leading artists with the company, co-creating many of the company's signature original works of theatre and touring them to venues and festivals in Brazil, Germany, Scotland, England, Romania, Poland, Peru, Italy, Ukraine, Lithuania and Ireland, among others. He has directed, designed and performed with the company since its inception and has turned his focus to the Pig Iron School since its founding in 2011.

For 20 years, Quinn taught courses in acting and movement theatre at Swarthmore College. Additionally, he has been on the faculty of the Headlong Performance Institute and has taught courses at Princeton University, Dartmouth College, University of the Arts, and Arcadia University. Quinn has taught workshops internationally in Thailand, Ukraine, Argentina, Romania, Hungary, Russia, China, and the UAE and throughout the United States at Princeton, Stanford, Yale, Harvard, Dartmouth, UVA, Wesleyan, Utah State, Georgetown, American University, and UPenn, among many others. Additionally, he has taught professional theatre training workshops in Philadelphia, New York, and San Francisco for the past 25 years. Quinn is the recipient of a Henry Luce Scholar Fellowship sponsoring a year of professional work in Bali, Indonesia, a USA Eisenhower Fellowship, a USA Knight Fellowship, a Fox Foundation Actor Fellowship, an Independence Foundation Fellowship, a Pew Fellowship, and was co-Director of the NEH Institute for Higher Education in 2023. He has published essays for Routledge, Yale’s Theater journal, and for Amtrak’s magazine, among other publications.

Anne Astolfe

Director of Ecole Jacques Lecoq

As a stage director, Anne Astolfe founded LE LAABO, a workshop laboratory for movement and play. Her productions include HOLD ON (an audience favorite at the Avignon Festival), the 2nd play of the (EX) LIMEN Company (featured at the Les Enfents du Désordre festival), LE CIRCAETE, a drama inspired by the comic strip of Manu Larcenet (PULP festival), and RUSH (Théâtre de Châtillon).

After earning a degree in physical education and sport adapted for the handicapped at UFR‐STAPS in Lyon and theatrical training with the Macocco‐Lardenois Company, Anne Astolfe studied at the Ecole Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq (2002-2004), completing the teacher-training in 2007. In 2021 Anne went to l’Ecole Nationale des Arts et Techniques du Théâtre (ENSATT) in Lyon where she got her Master in sound design and conception. She has taught at the National Circus School of Rosny-sous-Bois, at the Drama school of Champigny-sur-Marne, and currently serves as director of the Ecole Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq.

Marc Duchange

Marc Duchange honed his craft at the L'école Supérieure D’art Dramatique D'Aquitaine, where he performed in a dozen productions spanning both classical and contemporary genres. In 2015, he enrolled at the Ecole Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq. Since then, he has created a production that toured Portugal for several months and has worked on various projects in France and abroad (in both theatre and film). He currently works as an instructor at the Ecole Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq and collaborates on various physical theatre projects. He also leads mask-work workshops, notably at the Angers Higher Academy of Theatre.

Rick Kemp

Prof. Rick Kemp has over thirty years’ experience as an actor and director, gained in the UK, Europe and the USA, and is Emeritus Professor of Theatre at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). He trained at the École Gaulier / Pagneux in Paris and holds advanced degrees from Oxford University (MA) and the University of Pittsburgh (MFA, PhD). He is the author of Embodied Acting: What Neuroscience Tells Us About Performance (Routledge, 2012), the co-editor of The Routledge Companion to Jacques Lecoq (2017) and of The Routledge Companion to Theatre, Performance and Cognitive Science (2019), and is the founding editor of the Routledge Theatre, Performance and Embodied Cognition book series.

Dody DiSanto

Director of Center for Movement Theatre, DC

Dody DiSanto is a teacher, performer, director, movement specialist, manual therapist and licensed acupuncturist. She has nurtured a healthy practice in bodywork since 1992, while maintaining a vital career teaching theatre. Dody was trained in Paris, holding an esteemed position as a teaching protégé of the late Jacques Lecoq whose teachings she carries on at the Center for Movement Theatre. She has been on the faculty of the Shakespeare Theatre Company Academy at the George Washington University teaching mask and clown for over 20 years, and has served as guest teacher for Cirque du Soleil and at the Yale School of Drama. Dody is the original creator of the world-renowned live music venue, the 9:30 Club, which she owned and managed from 1980-87.

Erica Murphy

Assistant Professor at Syracuse University

Erica Murphy (she/her) is an actor, director, educator, and movement specialist. She has performed in world premieres in Chicago, Paris, NYC, and Canada, and created multiple award-winning productions through PortFringe. She is currently developing a new play titled Wolf Women through the New York State Council of the Arts Individual Artist Grant, and recently premiered an original production Places I Go from My Bed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer with MMM Productions and Syracuse University. Recent performances include Eureka Day (Hangar Theatre), The Play That Goes Wrong (Portland Stage), Death Wings Project (Dramatic Repertory Company and The Theater Project), and Balloonacy (The Children's Museum & Theatre of Maine). She studies with Theatrical Intimacy Education, and she has provided movement and intimacy choreography for productions with Syracuse Stage,  Geva Theatre, Redhouse Arts Center, Portland Stage, Syracuse University, and others. Murphy is a certified Feldenkrais practitioner, and a graduate of The Theatre School at DePaul University and the Jacques Lecoq International School of Theater in Paris. She has previously taught theater at Brandeis University and the University of Southern Maine, and is currently an Assistant Professor at Syracuse University.

Emmanuelle Delpech

Faculty member at Ecole Jacques Lecoq & Pig Iron School

Emmanuelle Delpech is a French physical theater artist and teacher living in the States.

She was classically trained and then studied physical theater at the École Jacques Lecoq. 25 years later she validated her 3rd pedagogical year, which makes her one of a few certified Lecoq teachers in the US. After that year, she was invited onto the faculty at the Lecoq School in Paris. She also has an MFA in Directing from Temple University.

She has worked with Pig Iron for many years as a performer and teacher. Emmanuelle is a core faculty member at the Pig Iron School.

She teaches workshops all over the States and in many different universities including Yale University, Williams College, and Swarthmore College. She has received many grants and awards for her work.
