INTRO TO CLOWN: a beginner’s workshop with Emmanuelle Delpech
Take a leap into the unknown territory of your own lunacy!
In this introductory workshop, master clown teacher and longtime Pig Iron faculty Emmanuelle Delpech explores the life-affirming absurdity of the human condition. With little more than a red nose and the body that each performer has inherited, this workshop will uncover each student's unique way of encountering the world. Delpech’s clown-study invites participants to tap into a deep well of their own humanity and share it with an audience. Through movement exercises, improvised scenes, physical games, and collaborative performance-making processes, participants will be introduced to the practice of “complicité” – the playful connection between performer and spectator. Prepare yourself for an adventure into idiocy, virtuosity, ridiculousness, absurd logic and comic vulnerability. Come find your inner clown and delight in our shared human frailty
